First Day of Dance Photos
We love the first day of school photos tradition, so why not do them for the first day of dance class too! After all, is there anything cuter than a little kid in a leotard? We don’t think so.

We invite students to grab a prop by our photo booth in the lobby to mark the occasion. Remember to tag your studio to share the fun on social!

What dance shoes to put on first
If your child is in a combo class with tap and ballet or tap and jazz, we ask that your child comes into class with their tap shoes on. During the class they will change into their ballet or jazz shoes. As a friendly reminder we ask that parents do not come into the classroom to assist with shoe changes. We also want to encourage your to write your child's name in each of the dance shoes to help facilitate locating a missing pair.

If your child is in a hip hop class, your child should wear a pair of clean tennis shoes to class. And if your child is in Twinkle Tots, they should wear either a pair of clean tennis shoes or ballet slippers.

Important Policies ~
CLASSROOM POLICIES:
-
We ask that parents DO NOT come into the classrooms when classes are in session. It is distracting to the other dancers, and we ask that you view class through the viewing windows only. Please have your dancer come into class with his/her tap shoes on first. Students should wait in the hall until their teacher is present before entering the classroom.

-
Dancers should bring a water bottle to class for drink breaks during their class time.

-
Bathroom: Parents of children under 8, please take your child to the restroom prior to class to avoid disruptions.

ABSENCE REPORTING:
We will be using a new process this year for reporting absences. If your dancer needs to miss class for any reason, please fill out the quick Google Form
For class planning purposes, the earlier you can report your dancer’s absence the better.

LOST AND FOUND:
Missing a dance shoe, water bottle, or clothing items, etc? Be sure to check out our Lost & Found in the girls changing room area under the counter. Simply ask the front desk for their assistance if needed and they will direct you to it. All items remaining in the Lost & Found will be donated during our scheduled calendar breaks (ie. Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, etc).

ILLNESS POLICY:
Please do not bring your child to class if they are coughing, sneezing, have a fever, stomach-ache, body aches, sore throat, chest congestion, diarrhea, vomiting, or any other illness. We will be following current CDC and MDH guidelines regarding Covid-19 cases. We will be suspending close contact quarantine and tracing procedures. We will continue to monitor and will make any adjustments as necessary.

MISSED CLASSES:
We are unable to offer makeup classes for any missed classes. Classes missed for illness, vacations, etc. will not be refunded or prorated.
CANCELLED CLASS POLICY – Inclement Weather/ Unforeseen Circumstances:
In the event of inclement weather or circumstances beyond our control and a studio closing is required, we will leave a message on the studio voicemail, send an email, and post this notification on Facebook/Instagram. There are no refunds or makeup classes for studio closing due to weather conditions and/or circumstances beyond our control.
Extraordinary Circumstance for Extended Closures
Should Dance Arts Centre face an unplanned closure due to unforeseen circumstances out of our control (flood, tornado, fire, pandemic, etc.), teachers will take advantage of online options such as Zoom and YouTube, etc. to get instruction to our students virtually. In the event of this kind of closure, communication will be sent out immediately and for the first 30 days following closure tuition will stay at 100%, no cancellations and no refunds. After 30 days we will discount classes 15%. If we need to go to long term virtual classes, time may be modified and classes may be shortened by approximately 15 minutes.

WITHDRAWAL POLICY:
We require a 30-day written notice via email if you need to withdraw from Dance Arts Centre for any reason (loss of interest, school obligations, injury, illness, moving, etc.). Please email mail@danceartscentre.net to withdraw from our 2023-2024 season. After the 30-day notice, we will terminate your next monthly installment of your tuition or, if a full year of tuition was paid, we will refund the remaining installments minus 30%.
